Job Description

Buyer Tengco Inc. is a privately-owned, world-class importer & distributor of custom manufactured, industrial products. Our specialty product groups include fasteners, castings, forgings, stampings, machined parts, injection molded products, and assemblies. Our customers range from Fortune 500 to startup companies looking for a competitive edge in the global marketplace. Our niche is supplying customized high-volume parts made to our customer's unique specifications, while offering creative programs for the distribution and management of those very items. What helps set us apart from our competition is our ability to source and control the products purchased from our overseas factories, in-house engineering, and an ISO accredited quality assurance program. Most of the products are procured from factories in overseas countries. Our company is currently in search of a qualified Buyer at our Jonesburg, Missouri location to perform the duties listed below.
  • Conduct cost analysis among various sources, materials, and supply solutions.
  • Work with Offshore Offices/Sales to resolve questions during the quotation phase.
  • Offer the best, suitable solution to the customer's needs in terms of material, pricing, production method, and logistical plan.
  • Coordinate among Engineering, Offshore Branches, and Sales on development of new product lines.
  • Support Existing Item Purchasing and Sales with required data through operational analysis on procurement and marketing.
  • Provide management assistance to various departments and develop business reports utilizing Microsoft 365 and current SQL database ERP system.
  • Research, review, and recommend potential new vendors.
  • Identify reliable sources of supply with primary regard to the ability to meet specification requirements, delivery needs, and price competitiveness.
  • Assist Existing Item Purchasing in efforts to reduce costs or in developing alternative sources to replace low performing, existing sources.
  • Meet annual productivity and cost avoidance goals related to the global sourcing strategy.
  • Maintain electronic quotation/purchase order files.
  • Understand and drive purchasing measures such as productivity, payment term targets, etc.
  • Negotiate with vendors for best total cost.
  • Create and maintain productivity tracking.
  • Complete vendor assessments.
  • Consolidate new project bid packages.
  • Prioritize timelines and needs of multiple projects at the same time.
  • Manage needs and expectations of multiple Stakeholders in multiple roles across the organization.
  • Drive timelines to completion on committed project dates.
  • International travel to locate/audit new vendors, as well as evaluate existing vendors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, International Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering field.
  • Available and physically able for international travel - valid U.S. passport.
  • Previous experience in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
