Purchasing Agent Sardis, MS About INCA Presswood Pallets INCA Presswood Pallets is a leading manufacturer of Engineered Molded Wood™ pallets, core plugs, extruded wood blocks, and other innovative engineered wood products. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Purchasing Agent to join our team in Sardis, Mississippi. Position Summary The Purchasing Agent plays a critical role in supporting plant operations by ensuring the timely procurement of materials, spare parts, maintenance supplies, and production-related inventory. This position works closely with plant leadership, maintenance, and production teams to maintain inventory accuracy, support preventive maintenance efforts, and ensure uninterrupted production. Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Inventory Management Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders for plant supplies, spare parts, maintenance materials, and production consumables. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of critical materials, including resin, wax, fuel, packaging supplies, and maintenance parts. Receive, inspect, label, and stock incoming materials and supplies. Coordinate with vendors to source materials, obtain pricing, and ensure timely delivery. Pick up materials from local suppliers as needed. Maintenance Support Create and issue preventive maintenance (PM), demand maintenance (DM), safety, and environmental work orders. Ensure required parts and technical documentation are available before work orders are released. Track and close completed maintenance work orders. Research equipment parts, specifications, and maintenance manuals. Reporting & Analysis Generate purchasing, inventory, and spending reports. Monitor material usage and inventory trends. Verify purchasing costs and reconcile inventory transactions. Assist with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory reporting requirements. Inventory Control Conduct routine physical inventory counts and monthly inventory audits. Support year-end inventory activities, including organizing count teams, reconciling discrepancies, and analyzing inventory results. Maintain an organized and accurate storeroom and parts inventory system. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of purchasing, inventory control, warehouse, maintenance planning, or related experience. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency with computer systems and inventory management software. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience with purchasing and inventory management systems. Knowledge of maintenance planning and spare parts management. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to bend, stoop, climb, balance, and perform physical activities associated with an active manufacturing environment. Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing facility and may involve: Exposure to varying temperatures, including hot and humid conditions. Exposure to industrial equipment, noise, oils, coolants, and grease. Required use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
