JOB SUMMARY
The Specialty Materials Coordinator at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for ensuring inventory for the specific clinical department to which they are assigned is maintained in a budget-compliant and organized way to ensure all needed materials are available to support patient care. This role engages organizational and communication skills to manage inventory order placement and receipt, negotiate pricing discrepancies and quotes, identify and escalate equipment needs and issues, direct the annual inventory process, interface with internal and external stakeholders including clinicians and vendors, and support unit regulatory compliance to support efficient and effective department operations. | •

Inventory:
Receives stocks, issues, and reorders replacement items to assigned clinical department inventory Receives all incoming supplies to assigned clinical department, checks items against packing slips to ensure accuracy and reports any deficiencies and/or damages immediately Moves incoming supplies to their proper storage locations and rotates stock according to policy Generates an issue order to department in PeopleSoft as supplies are used, and creates requisitions to reorder stock, ensuring a proper operational inventory Assists staff in the orderly organization of supplies on shelves, par carts, and other storage areas to maintain a clean, safe working environment Assures equipment is accounted for and in working order | |
Customer Service:
Meets with sales reps to discuss capital needs and receive quotes Works with vendors to adjust and negotiate pricing discrepancies and transmitting purchase orders | |
Communication:
Remains responsible for communicating equipment needs, maintenance, and failures to the appropriate department and/or vendor, Team Leader and Nurse Manager, and department director | |
Budget:
Assists with budget by reviewing materials, options, costs, and ways to lower waste on unit Assists with budget by obtaining quotes and replacement schedules, and submitting capital requests Directs the annual Emergency Room inventory process, performs data entry and creates reports for management review | |
Regulation:
Prepares unit for DNV standards 1-3 years 1-2 years' experience in inventory management Preferred | Requirements No additional requirements from any stated in the above description. Education You must have the following education to apply: You must have a High School Diploma or GED or higher
