Job Description

Job Description Overview Our client is seeking a technically strong Senior Buyer to help scale and optimize procurement in a fast-growing manufacturing environment. This role is heavily focused on
SAP S/4HANA
expertise, specifically within purchasing and supply chain modules. The ideal candidate will own end-to-end purchasing while acting as a power user of SAP, driving process efficiency, building POs, maintaining clean data, and improving overall procurement performance. Key Responsibilities
  • Own full lifecycle purchasing for direct and indirect materials
  • Build and manage purchase orders (POs) within
SAP S/4HANA
  • Lead RFQs, supplier selection, cost analysis, and negotiations
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned to cost, quality, and delivery
  • Maintain accurate master data, purchasing records, and supplier metrics in SAP
  • Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to support production needs
  • Act as the
SAP S/4HANA
subject matter expert for procurement and supply chain
  • Drive process improvements, system optimization, and reporting enhancements
  • Build and manage supplier relationships (domestic + international)
  • Partner cross-functionally with: ○ Engineering (interpret drawings, BOMs, specs) ○ Production & planning (material readiness) ○ Logistics & warehouse (inbound flow)

  • 5-10 years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing
  • Strong
SAP S/4HANA
expertise (non-negotiable), including: ○ Purchasing / Procure-to-Pay ○ Creating and managing POs ○ MRP & material planning ○ Supplier performance tracking
  • Experience with: ○ RFQs, sourcing, and supplier negotiations ○ Cost analysis and procurement strategy
  • Ability to support technical purchasing (read drawings, specs, BOMs)
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, growth / build-from-scratch environment
  • Experience in energy, high-voltage, or heavy industrial manufacturing
  • Experiencing purchasing resins or industrial assembly parts
  • Background in transformers, bushings, or similar electrical components
  • Experience working with global suppliers
  • Exposure to startup or scaling manufacturing environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
