6-month contract with potential contract-to-hire (C2H) A day in this role When you start your morning, you'll align with program managers to confirm what materials and services are needed for active defense programs. By mid-morning, you're refining an RFP package, ensuring every clause aligns with
FAR/DFARS
guidance, and preparing an RFQ to hit the market. After lunch, you're on a supplier call—probing cost drivers, validating past performance, and negotiating terms that safeguard the DoD's interests. You wrap the day by updating stakeholders with a concise report on sourcing status, budget impacts, and any compliance checkpoints you've cleared. What you'll do Plan procurement : Partner with program leadership to shape sourcing strategies, define requirements, and outline timelines. Build solicitations : Draft and issue RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs that adhere to governing regulations and internal policy. Assess suppliers : Analyze capabilities, qualifications, and historical performance; conduct site visits; perform cost/price analysis. Negotiate contracts : Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure fair agreements for the DoD while honoring federal ethics and acquisition standards. Administer awards : Track deliverables, performance, and compliance; resolve issues during the contract lifecycle. Manage relationships : Maintain constructive supplier and contractor partnerships to enable communication and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance : Maintain meticulous documentation and audit-ready files; operate within applicable laws, policies, FAR/DFARS, and DCMA guidance. Scan the market : Monitor trends, technologies, and best practices to surface new suppliers and innovation opportunities. Analyze finances : Execute cost and price analyses; monitor budgets and spending to ensure fiscal discipline. Collaborate and report : Work cross-functionally with finance, legal, and program management; deliver clear reports, presentations, and briefings. What you bring Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related discipline; advanced credentials (e.g., CPSM, CFCM) are a plus. Hands-on knowledge of federal procurement (FAR, DFARS) and familiarity with DCMA guidelines. Experience in purchasing/procurement, ideally in government or defense environments. Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities. Analytical problem solver with high attention to detail and capacity to multitask. Proficiency with procurement and ERP/MRP systems. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required. Preferred proficiencies Bachelor's Degree
