Job Description:
SUMMARY We have an immediate need for a Purchasing Associate who is bilingual Mandarin with ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with co-workers and suppliers; cultural sensitivity and ability to relate well and effectively in a diverse workplace.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the satisfactory availability of goods to customers of the company by studying inventory levels and creating a forecast for expected usage Schedule deliveries. Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products to maintain required inventory levels by monitoring and expediting orders as needed Communicate with suppliers to resolve shipment issues, including defective or unacceptable goods and determine corrective action Negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on budget and schedule requirements Load and maintain supplier information in ERP database. Supplier information includes contact information, supplier product pricing, supplier part number, and payment terms. Verify order specifications/packaging and pricing for orders placed
QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual English/Mandarin required 2 years' experience / knowledge of supply management required 3+ years in sourcing, planning or purchasing roles Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively Strong attention to detail is required for this role Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with good mathematical and analytical abilities is necessary Proficiency in Microsoft Word / Excel required Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline
