Job Description:
SUMMARY We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Associate to support inventory planning, supplier management, and procurement operations within a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is responsible for maintaining product availability, monitoring inventory levels, coordinating supplier deliveries, and ensuring accurate purchasing data within the ERP system. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain operations and possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor inventory levels and assist with forecasting product demand to support business needs. Coordinate and track supplier shipments to ensure timely delivery and adequate stock levels. Follow up on open purchase orders and expedite deliveries when necessary. Work with suppliers to resolve shipment discrepancies, quality concerns, and product-related issues. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and purchasing terms with vendors. Maintain accurate supplier records, pricing information, product details, and payment terms within the ERP system. Verify order details, packaging requirements, and pricing accuracy before processing purchases. Collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to support efficient procurement operations. Analyze purchasing and inventory data to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of supply management or procurement-related experience. At least 3 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, inventory planning, or related functions. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
