We execute all types of construction including residential, commercial, and multi family projects. We require a strong negotiator and salesperson who is not afraid to pick up the phone and call for quotes. Your primary objective is to secure the best pricing for materials and subcontractor services. You will function as our lead construction estimator for material buyouts.
Key Responsibilities:
Call subcontractors and suppliers daily to request quotes and negotiate prices. Review construction plans to ensure all quotes match the project scope accurately. Track all bids and evaluate them to ensure maximum value. Build strategic alliances with suppliers while maintaining strict control over our pricing requirements.
Qualifications:
2 years minimum experience in construction purchasing, sales, or as a construction estimator. Exceptional phone communication and sales skills. Proven ability to negotiate pricing and close deals. Capable of reading basic architectural plans. Duties Source and evaluate suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with vendors to secure the best value while maintaining quality standards Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to understand project needs and specifications Manage procurement processes within ERP systems such as
SAP, SAP ERP, JD
Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 to streamline purchasing workflows Monitor inventory levels and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites Conduct market research to identify new sourcing opportunities and stay updated on industry trends Maintain comprehensive records of purchase orders, contracts, supplier performance, and procurement activities Requirements Proven experience in construction procurement or purchasing roles with strong negotiation skills Proficiency in ERP systems such as
SAP, SAP ERP, JD
Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 is essential for managing procurement workflows Knowledge of materials management, inventory control, supply chain management, and logistics processes Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to support production planning and inventory management Strong understanding of contracts, pricing strategies, sourcing techniques, and procurement best practices Excellent communication skills for effective negotiations and supplier relationship management Ability to analyze market data and leverage e-commerce platforms for sourcing opportunities Nice-to-have skills include experience with merchandising systems or supply chain software related to construction projects Join us in a role that energizes your procurement expertise!
