Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Purchaser to join our team in Amityville, New York. In this role, you will manage procurement activities, coordinate with vendors, and ensure timely delivery of materials essential to our operations. This position requires strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to handling purchase orders efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Process and manage sales orders and purchase orders to ensure seamless workflows.
- Communicate with vendors to confirm orders, negotiate pricing, and monitor delivery schedules.
- Track the arrival of materials and verify their accuracy against purchase agreements.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and update relevant databases.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and prioritize purchases.
- Research and identify new vendors to optimize quality and cost-efficiency.
- Resolve discrepancies related to orders, shipments, or invoices in a timely manner.
- Stay informed about market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enhance operational reliability. Requirements
- Previous experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing functions and supplier management.
- Proficiency in tracking and managing purchase orders.
- Excellent communication skills for vendor coordination and negotiation.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with procurement software and tools is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of market trends and cost-efficiency strategies.
