Job Description:
Senior Buyer - Regulated Manufacturing Environment A well-established Western New York manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to support strategic sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing operations within a regulated manufacturing environment. This position is primarily focused on senior-level purchasing responsibilities including supplier strategy, negotiations, long-term agreements, and cross-functional coordination, while also supporting import/export compliance activities alongside established internal resources and external consultants.
In this role you will:
Lead strategic sourcing and purchasing initiatives for critical components and materials Develop and maintain supplier relationships including negotiations, supplier performance reviews, and long-term agreements Support supplier onboarding, engineering changes, and new product introduction activities Coordinate with logistics, operations, engineering, quality, and finance teams to support production objectives Assist with trade compliance documentation, procedures, and annual training activities Maintain purchasing controls, supplier documentation, and audit readiness Participate in process improvement initiatives across supply chain and procurement functions Support procurement activities tied to technical and manufactured components Qualifications 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment Strong background in supplier negotiations, sourcing strategy, procurement processes, and contract management Experience working with international suppliers, logistics, or import/export activities preferred Exposure to regulated manufacturing environments such as aerospace, industrial, medical device, defense, electronics, or other technical manufacturing environments is a plus Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments Experience supporting technical, industrial, aerospace, or engineered products is helpful but not required Additional Information Hybrid flexibility available Stable and team-oriented manufacturing environment Opportunity to expand experience within trade compliance and regulatory processes Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and meet applicable compliance requirements
