Job Title:
Supplier Specialist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Supplier Specialist to join our team. The role involves partnering with engineering and manufacturing teams to understand technical requirements and sourcing needs, identifying and developing suppliers that meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations, and leading strategic sourcing initiatives for high-value, technically complex commodities. Responsibilities Partner closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to understand technical requirements and sourcing needs. Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers that meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for high-value, technically complex commodities. Negotiate long-term supplier agreements, including pricing, terms, and capacity commitments. Support new product development (NPD) by aligning procurement activities with design milestones and production timelines. Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement across quality, delivery, and cost. Collaborate across global business units to leverage supplier capabilities and optimize overall spend. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry regulations, and sustainability objectives. Essential Skills Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships. Experience working with an ERP system and a solid understanding of master data in sourcing precision components, electronics, and/or fluid management systems. Manufacturing experience, including the ability to read and interpret part numbers on engineering drawings/blueprints and experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs). Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field. 5+ years of experience in strategic or technical procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or technology-driven environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong understanding of technical drawings, materials, and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma. Experience working with international suppliers and global sourcing strategies. Work Environment The role is based in an office and manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dayton, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
