WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT FOR THIS POSITION
Familiarity with industrial maintenance components including: Sensors Robotic components Weld consumables Pneumatic and hydraulic components Tooling and fixturing Electrical spare parts Bearings, motors, and drive components Ability to read part numbers, BOMs, vendor catalogs, and technical documentation. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and vendor research skills. Forklift or material handling experience is a plus.
SOFTWARE/COMPUTER SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience with ERP systems;
PLEX ERP
experience is a strong plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The MRO Specialist is responsible for the daily management, organization, and control of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) inventory, tooling, spare parts, and consumables to support manufacturing and maintenance operations. This role ensures inventory accuracy, establishes minimum and maximum stocking levels, supports procurement activities, and develops an efficient spare parts management system to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency. Maintain accurate inventory levels of tooling, MRO supplies, spare parts, weld consumables, and maintenance components. Establish, monitor, and adjust minimum/maximum (Min/Max) inventory levels based on usage trends, lead times, and operational demand. Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive spare parts management system for critical production and maintenance equipment. Research, identify, and procure critical spare parts to reduce equipment downtime and improve plant reliability. Submit purchase order requests and coordinate with purchasing/vendors to ensure timely replenishment of materials. Organize and maintain tool crib layout, storage systems, labeling, and part identification for efficient accessibility. Track inventory movement, usage, and discrepancies to maintain high inventory accuracy. Conduct routine cycle counts, audits, and physical inventory checks. Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, controls, and production teams to identify required spare parts and tooling needs. Manage obsolete inventory, damaged materials, and excess stock to improve storage efficiency. Support preventive maintenance programs by ensuring required spare parts and consumables are available. Maintain supplier relationships and assist with sourcing alternative vendors when necessary. Monitor lead times, cost trends, and availability of critical components. Ensure compliance with company safety, housekeeping, and inventory control standards. Generate inventory and purchasing reports as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or TTD Management representatives. Employee is responsible for ensuring all environmental practices are in line with job scope / position. Examples include but not limited to: proper waste disposal practices, reporting of spills, non-compliance to permit, and addressing any improper practices. Assumes additional duties as assigned, which may fall outside the primary scope of the role.
Requirements:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical background preferred. 2+ years of experience in tool crib management, MRO inventory control, maintenance support, or industrial storeroom operations preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing, welding, robotics, or automated assembly environment strongly preferred. Knowledge of inventory control practices, spare parts planning, and procurement processes . Experience establishing and managing critical spare parts inventories .
