This role manages procurement activities across all facility departments while driving cost savings, inventory optimization, vendor accountability, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, relationship-driven, and passionate about supporting healthcare operations through strategic purchasing and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Procurement & Purchasing Management Serve as the primary purchasing resource for assigned facilities by: Placing, tracking, and managing supply orders. Reviewing purchasing requests, inventory levels, and operational needs. Coordinating with facility leadership and department managers to resolve supply challenges. Managing backorders, substitutions, emergency purchases, and vendor escalations. Ensuring compliance with approved vendor programs and purchasing standards. Monitoring purchasing activity to identify cost savings, standardization opportunities, and operational efficiencies. Maintaining accurate pricing, order fulfillment, and delivery performance. Departments Supported Manage purchasing and inventory support for all facility departments, including: Nursing Dietary Environmental Services / Housekeeping Maintenance Activities Rehabilitation Administrative & Business Office Capital Equipment & Special Projects Inventory Management & Cost Savings Establish and maintain department PAR levels. Analyze purchasing trends, census fluctuations, and utilization patterns. Monitor inventory to prevent stock-outs and overstock situations. Improve inventory turnover and purchasing efficiency. Identify, implement, and track cost-saving initiatives. Support product standardization and preferred vendor utilization. Assist facilities in maximizing value from vendor contracts and purchasing programs. Vendor & Facility Partnership Build and maintain strong vendor relationships. Monitor vendor performance and resolve purchasing issues. Serve as the primary procurement contact for assigned facilities. Develop trusted relationships with Administrators, Executive Directors, Directors of Nursing, Department Heads, and Business Office Managers. Conduct regular facility visits and purchasing reviews. Provide procurement guidance and best-practice recommendations. Travel & Work Environment This is a remote, field-based salaried position requiring regular travel throughout an assigned territory. Specialists are expected to visit each assigned facility a minimum of two (2) times per month. Additional travel may be required to support facility needs, special projects, and vendor meetings. Specialists must attend quarterly All-Hands meetings at Choice Companies' corporate headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio. Compensation & Vehicle Program This is a full-time salaried exempt position. Business mileage is reimbursed through bi-weekly payroll during the introductory period. Upon successful completion of the initial 90 days of employment, employees become eligible for a company-provided vehicle, subject to company policies and driver qualification requirements. Required Qualifications Minimum two (2) years of experience in procurement, purchasing, healthcare operations, supply chain management, account management, or a related field preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business software applications.
