Compensation:
$65•75
K/yr DOE Availability:
Monday•Friday, 8am•5pm The Buyer is responsible for planning and buying products to support the business's inventory needs and sales projections. The Purchasing Buyer manages assigned vendor relationships and partners with the Key Account Sales Manager team to research, evaluate, and on-board new vendor accounts. This individual must be an effective negotiator and communicator when working with external vendors and internal cross-functional teams.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Forecast, plan, and purchase products that best fit our customer needs at negotiated and specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. This includes but is not limited to the following:
Volume Rebates:
monthly, quarterly, and yearly. Cash discounts and payment terms. Growth incentives. Co-op advertising dollars and other relationship marketing events. Negotiate and manage contracts to ensure vendors comply with the terms and conditions and to determine the need for changes. Analyzes product trends and turnover. In partnership with the Key Account Sales Manager team, develop and recommend vendor programs to increase margin dollars by product line. Review suggested order reports and replenish inventories at the required levels. Responsible for managing inventory adjustments monthly in partnership with Warehouse and Operational teams. Manages the product return process related to assigned vendors. Maintains inventories and places orders for all assigned vendors. Analyze sales, turns, margins, and gross profit dollars on assigned product lines. Key player in managing inventory control, exit strategy for discontinued items, and the return of slow-selling products.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in buying within a Distributor or Web-retailer Previous experience preferred in working within Forecasting and Purchase Order modules of a major ERP, Microsoft Dynamics ERP a plus Proficient in MS Office 4-year college degree preferred Ability to multi-task and work independently with moderate guidance on several projects simultaneously Excellent communication•both verbal and written; ability to articulate clearly and professionally via telephone, email, and business meetings Strong negotiating skills Accurate, efficient, impeccable attention to detail•the ability to prove one's own work Career-oriented and self-starter attitude CampusPoint is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
