Manufacturing Buyer / Planner

Company Overview Aerospace Manufacturing Company (35-40 people )looking for a Material Buyer / Project Planner. Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer / Planner to join our project management team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in Managing purchases needed for part manufacturing and general business needs Understanding supply chain Understanding inventory control Have a knowledge of manufacturing planning The Planner/Buyer will collaborate with various departments to optimize inventory levels and support overall business objectives. Responsibilities Understanding blueprint and manufacturing requirements to make parts Create and/or Review production travelers/routers/ work orders for accuracy Using quotes from Estimators, finding better prices as needed, getting requotes Working with vendors to have and keep good relationships Create and send Purchase Orders w/ ability to schedule correct buying time based on lead times, prices, and availability Be able to read blueprint, have critical thinking, be detail oriented - are all a must Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and establish favorable terms Coordinate with production planning teams to align material availability with production schedules Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all purchasing activities Purchase of all shop needs is included (water, office supplies, etc.) Experience Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management Metals and understanding of basic machining practice Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders Experience in a machine shop is preferred If you are self motivated and want to work in a thriving environment and have the skills necessary to excel in this role, we encourage you to apply for the Buyer/Planner position.
