Job Description

CTG is seeking to fill a Buyer position for our client.
Location:
Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Duration:
12 months
Pay Rate:
$32.00 - $35.00/hour, depending on experience
Position Overview:
The Raw Materials Buyer is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing key raw materials to support manufacturing operations. This role focuses on ensuring reliable, cost-competitive supply while driving local and regional sourcing initiatives that reduce lead times, logistics costs, supply chain risks, and environmental impact. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, supplier management experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Source and procure raw materials to support production requirements. Develop and maintain supplier relationships and strategic sourcing networks. Support localization initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce risk. Conduct supplier and market research to identify regional sourcing opportunities. Analyze pricing, supplier performance, and market trends to support procurement decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, logistics, quality, and engineering. Assist with supplier negotiations, cost savings initiatives, and procurement strategy development. Monitor inventory and material availability to ensure continuity of supply. Manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Required Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong project management, multitasking, and organizational abilities. Attention to detail and effective time management skills. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain operations. Manufacturing or industrial industry experience preferred. Experience managing supplier relationships and sourcing initiatives.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
