Job Overview:
We are currently looking for a Purchasing Analyst to join our procurement team located at our Regional Office in Red Bank, NJ. In this role you will focus on materials such as fabrics and covers. Your mission will be to ensure these materials are properly sourced at the most competitive price and flowing smoothly through our processes. In many cases we already have contracts and agreements, but if it's something we haven't sourced before, you'll handle sourcing and negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate the procurement of indirect materials and services covers and fabrics
Responsible for all commercial activities with suppliers such as negotiating proposals and obtaining product and/or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
Collaborate with internal customers to develop business requirements and improve processes
Issue RFX's, Statements of Work, and blanket, contract or spot buy purchase orders
Develop and execute supplier and commodity strategies to support plant procurement and manufacturing operations
Manage contract database
Responsible for providing feedback and/or recommendations to senior management on supplier selection and sourcing documentation
Responsible for the maintenance of procurement records in accordance with corporate guidelines
Discuss defective or unacceptable materials or service levels with users, suppliers, and others to determine root cause and corrective action.
Proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows, and support the team through strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Skills /
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in supply chain or equivalent work experience
3 - 6 years of purchasing experience, including raw materials
Demonstrated creativity in identifying and capturing opportunities to control costs, enhance quality, etc
Solid negotiation skills
Experience with purchasing modules in major ERP systems; SAP MRP experience is required
Strategic sourcing experience including supplier management
History of delivering significant savings projects
Track record of presenting projects to senior-level management
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving skills
Strong written and oral presentation skills
Able to deal with pressures and timelines inherent in a fast-paced company
Possess the poise, confidence and presence to be able to deal effectively with external vendors, and all levels within the organization
Strong, self-confident, decisive leader with excellent listening skills, emotional maturity and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
Strong team orientation and collaboration skills
Apparel industry experience is highly preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
