A global Tier 1 automotive supplier is seeking a Resin Buyer to join its procurement organization in Rochester Hills, MI. This role is responsible for managing sourcing strategies and supplier relationships for resin commodities supporting automotive production programs across multiple facilities. Key Responsibilitie s- Manage sourcing and procurement of resin and polymer material s
- Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with business need s
- Lead supplier negotiations focused on cost, quality, delivery, and risk mitigatio n
- Monitor resin market conditions, pricing trends, and supply availabilit y
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations team s
- Support new program launches and ongoing production requirement s
- Drive supplier performance and continuous improvement initiative s Required Experie nce
- Current, hands-on experience purchasing resin commodities (requir ed)
- Experience in automotive, plastics, chemicals, or manufacturing environme nts
- Strong background in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiati ons
- Understanding of commodity markets, contracts, and supply chain dynam ics Preferred Qualifica tions
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
- Experience supporting Tier 1 automotive or OEM supply c hains
- ERP/MRP system experience (SAP or sim ilar) What's Offered
