Job Description

If you love to plan, prepare, and manage projects then we may have the right job for you. The SCDMV is looking for a motivated Procurement Specialist . This position is in the Administration/Procurement Office, at SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood, SC. Responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist
  • Report to the Procurement Supervisor and work closely with Agency Departments to understand and assess the needs of the Agency.
  • Assist in conducting market research and creating/writing Scopes of Work (SOWs) for Procurement Solicitations.
  • Monitor current agency procurement and state term contracts.
  • Conduct contract analysis and coordinate communications and activities throughout the Agency to facilitate compliance.
  • Perform vendor reviews.
  • Assist Agency Departments with any vendor issues.
  • Manage and maintain the Agency's contract documentation and tracking spreadsheets.
  • Maintain real-time contract valuations and apply purchase orders to existing contracts.
  • Responsible for the preparation and issuance of agency purchase orders and change orders.
  • Manages the Verizon account orders for the agency.
  • Responsible for all other duties, tasks, and special projects as assigned by their supervisor, the Chief of Procurement & Contracts, and the Director of Administration. Minimum Requirements
  • A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for required work experience. Agency Requirements
  • Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing. Additional Requirements
  • General knowledge of procurement practices and principles.
  • Must have good cognitive skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be proficient on personal computer with experience in Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow instructions.
  • SCEIS and S.C. State Consolidated Procurement Code experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Must be able to make independent, logical decisions.
  • Must have ability to set priorities within workload areas and schedule time accordingly.
  • Must be able to work within a strategic environment with multi-year priorities and timelines.
  • Must be able to work in a PC environment and be able to multitask.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must have high ethics and professionalism with a customer service driven attitude and strong support abilities.
  • No overnight travel should be needed; however, occasional training opportunities may require some overnight stays. Agency Preferred
  • A high school diploma and office experience, preferably in a state agency environment.
  • Three years' work experience in procurement.
  • Experience with the State SCEIS system.
