Handle more complex buyer responsibilities which may include ordering stock and nonstock supplies, processing requisitions, researching products, clarifying specifications, preparing purchase orders, following up on back orders, selecting vendors and maintaining up-to-date product information according to Prince's policies and procedures. Cultivate relationships with the supplier, negotiate contracts, find new commodity sources, and develop new practices for increasing the efficient delivery of commodities.
Supervisory responsibilities:
This position is not a supervisory role.
Duties/responsibilities :
Model, analyze and compare various supply chain scenarios using supply chain optimization tools. Undertake ownership of future state cost/savings analysis and present results and influence management. Proactively identify, analyze and recommend opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the current supply chain analysis processes. Regularly analyzes supply chain data to ensure key performance indicators are met in order to develop and lead new processes, procedures and corrective actions. Initiate and process purchase orders and amendments for assigned commodities in a timely manner, obtain purchase order acknowledgements from suppliers, and monitor, update/track data as needed. Arrange for submission and inspection of sample products as required. Close coordination with engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities. Secure and analyze quotes. Negotiate price and terms with suppliers. Recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities. Coordinate as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers. Visit suppliers to qualify them as new sources. Ensure complete and effective quality assurance/control plans are implemented at suppliers for purchased products; ensure actions to improve quality plans are implemented at suppliers to minimize and mitigate risk to Prince. Drive timely and effective supplier corrective and preventive action on non-conforming purchased product. Participate, and lead where appropriate, in re-sourcing efforts (moving product from one supplier to another). Participate as required in supplier audits and assessments. Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Prince's Code of Ethics and Conduct. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Ability to identify, design, and develop analytical and reporting tools. Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Proficient use of MS Office and statistical analysis tools. Experienced quantitative problem solver who can manage complex issues and interpret large data sets comfortably. Analytical thinking who can draw sound business conclusions from multiple sources of information. Self-driven individual who is able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities. Must be able to work under pressure. Collaborative team player who can effectively work in a matrix/cross-functional organization. Knowledge of materials management, purchasing methods, and expediting procedures. Detail oriented. Able to work independently and proactively within the defined scope of responsibility. Experience in working with large volumes of data and performing quantitative analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate persuasively with strong interpersonal skills. Travel occasionally on short notice, including overnights is required.
Education and experience requirements:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business or related studies preferred. 3 to 5 years of high level of purchasing and procurement experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Driver's License and insurable MV is required. Valid passport.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be regularly sitting at a desk and working on a computer, walking, and talking. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The noise level is minimal for this position.
