Job Description
Job Overview This position will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for gathering information and completing purchase orders for procurement of materials and services and ensuring products are delivered upon agreed terms and conditions Responsibilities Procure raw materials, components, and MRO supplies critical to daily manufacturing operations. Evaluate, negotiate with, and manage suppliers to ensure top-tier quality, pricing, and delivery. Monitor open orders, expedite when needed, and escalate risks or shortages to the Supply Chain Manager. Maintain accurate and timely PO records and documentation in the ERP system. Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs to anticipate procurement needs. Work cross-functionally with production, inventory, and accounting to ensure alignment and resolve any issues. Track vendor performance and look for continuous improvement opportunities in cost, delivery, and reliability. Schedule inbound freight to align with production and receiving needs, while ensuring freight costs stay within budgeted limits. Build strong vendor relationships that reflect our core values. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred) Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing or similar role Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills Must be able to work in a highly organized and detail-oriented environment Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software Experience with ERP/MRP systems Understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs Norstar Trailers, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
