Position Overview Motor Controls Inc. in Dallas, Texas is seeking new Purchasing Agent to work collaboratively with a highly talented, cross-functional team to create best in class products for our clients! Key Responsibilities Procure materials, components, or services to support operational and production requirements Manage purchase orders from requisition through delivery, ensuring accuracy and on-time fulfillment Analyze demand forecasts and inventory levels to determine optimal purchasing quantities and timing Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers to confirm pricing, lead times, capacity, and delivery schedules Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to shortages, quality, or delivery delays Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements within approved authority levels Collaborate with inventory, planning, operations, engineering, and finance teams to align purchasing strategies Expedite materials as needed to support production schedules and customer commitments Maintain accurate purchasing data within ERP systems, including pricing, lead times, and supplier records Support cost-reduction, supplier rationalization, and continuous improvement initiatives Core Skills & Competencies Procurement and purchasing operations Supplier relationship management Negotiation and cost control Planning and prioritization Analytical and problem-solving skills Cross-functional communication and collaboration Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Technical Skills ERP systems (Sage X3 a plus) Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) Purchase order and contract management Demand and inventory analysis Basic understanding of supply chain and logistics processes Reporting and data reconciliation Education Requires a bachelor's degree or 5 years experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Practical experience with Excel and Outlook is required.
