Job Description

Buyer / Materials Planner - Manufacturing Operations CellTech Cargo - 1.5 Elm Mott, TX Job Details Full-time $60,000 - $80,000 a year 2 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Fabrication Inventory management software MRP Manufacturing facility Raw materials management Lean management Full Job Description Job description: Buyer / Materials Planner - Manufacturing Operations Celltech Cargo | Elm Mott (Waco), Texas Build Equipment That Actually Gets Used At Celltech Cargo, we don't build lightweight consumer trailers. We design and manufacture heavy-duty cargo and service trailers engineered to outperform anything else on the road. Our patented CellTech panel system, galvanized construction, and integrated designs are redefining durability in the trailer industry. Built in Texas and sold nationwide, our trailers are trusted by professionals who depend on their equipment every day. We are growing — and growth only works when materials arrive on time, suppliers perform, and production keeps moving. Who This Role Is For This role is for someone who understands manufacturing reality: Production can't wait Suppliers miss commitments Engineering changes happen Forecasts are never perfect You know how to keep material flowing anyway. You're the person operations calls before a shortage shuts down production — because you already saw it coming. What You'll Own You will directly support fabrication and trailer production by owning material availability from supplier to shop floor. Plan and procure materials supporting production schedules Maintain material flow without excessive inventory Manage supplier performance including cost, delivery, and reliability Expedite critical shortages before they impact builds Work daily with production, engineering, and leadership Support new product launches and engineering changes Improve inventory turns and reduce waste Help build scalable purchasing and planning processes as Celltech grows This is a hands-on manufacturing role, not a desk-only purchasing position. What Success Looks Like Production runs without material shortages Suppliers understand Celltech expectations Inventory stays controlled without starving production Problems get solved early — not escalated late Required Experience 5+ years purchasing or material planning in manufacturing Experience supporting fabrication, welding, assembly, or equipment production Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory control Ability to prioritize under real production pressure Comfortable working on the shop floor as well as in systems Preferred Background Trailer, automotive, metal fabrication, or heavy equipment manufacturing CPIM, CPSM, or equivalent experience Lean or continuous improvement exposure Ownership & Impact At Celltech Cargo, this role owns outcomes — not just transactions. You will be trusted to make decisions that directly affect production continuity, supplier performance, and inventory investment. Success in this position comes from anticipating problems, taking initiative, and driving solutions without waiting for layers of management or corporate bureaucracy. If you prefer narrowly defined responsibilities and constant direction, this role may not be the right fit. If you take pride in keeping manufacturing moving and solving problems before they escalate, you'll thrive here. Why Strong Performers Join Celltech Flat organization with fast decision-making Direct access to leadership Real ownership and visible operational impact Growing Texas manufacturer with advancement opportunity Opportunity to build systems — not maintain corporate process Compensation & Growth Competitive salary based on experience and demonstrated capability. Celltech rewards people who take ownership, improve operations, and deliver results. High performers quickly earn expanded responsibility and compensation growth aligned with their impact.
