Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented CNC Production Purchaser to support daily operations in a fast-paced machine shop environment. This position is responsible for purchasing raw materials, tooling, shop supplies, and outside services while maintaining vendor relationships and ensuring production schedules stay on track. The ideal candidate has experience working in manufacturing or machining environments and understands the urgency of production deadlines. Responsibilities Purchase raw materials including steel, aluminum, plastics, and specialty metals Order CNC tooling, inserts, holders, gauges, and shop consumables Source pricing and negotiate with vendors for cost savings Track purchase orders, deliveries, and backorders Coordinate with production, programming, and management teams to meet scheduling demands Maintain inventory levels and reorder points Work with outside processing vendors such as heat treat, plating, anodizing, and grinding Ensure purchased items meet quality and specification requirements Maintain accurate purchasing records in ERP or inventory systems Identify new suppliers and improve purchasing efficiency Qualifications Previous purchasing or buyer experience in manufacturing preferred CNC machine shop or industrial experience strongly preferred Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to read part prints and understand machining terminology is a plus Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems preferred Excellent communication and vendor management skills Proficient with Microsoft Excel and email communication Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Pay & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health insurance options Paid holidays and PTO Overtime opportunities available Stable, long-term opportunity with growth potential
