Full-Time 40hrs Week Position Summary ETR Services is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to manage the procurement of materials, equipment, supplies, and services necessary to support company operations. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing vendors, negotiating pricing and terms, issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices while meeting quality and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers. Obtain and compare quotes to secure the best value for the company. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts. Create, process, and manage purchase orders. Monitor order status and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Work closely with operations, project managers, and field personnel to identify purchasing needs. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation. Track inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed. Resolve issues related to delayed shipments, damaged goods, shortages, or vendor disputes. Analyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for cost savings. Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures. Develop and maintain approved vendor lists. Assist with budgeting and forecasting for material and equipment purchases. Generate purchasing reports and provide recommendations to management. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field preferred. 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or supply chain experience. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with purchasing, or inventory management software preferred. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in construction, utility services, telecommunications, electrical contracting, or field services industries. Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse operations. Familiarity with equipment, tools, and materials used in utility or infrastructure projects. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Cost savings achieved through negotiations and sourcing. On-time delivery rate. Purchase order accuracy. Inventory accuracy and stock availability. Vendor performance and responsiveness. Reduction in emergency purchases and stockouts. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
