Buyer Planner II Job Description The Buyer Planner II position is a blended planning and procurement role supporting a high-volume manufacturing environment focused on molded components such as raw materials, resins, and hardware. This role executes MRP-driven purchasing activities, manages a high volume of purchase orders each week, and ensures production continuity through proactive supplier coordination and shortage resolution. The Buyer Planner II works closely with production, planning, and engineering teams to align schedules, expedite materials, and maintain strong supplier performance. The position requires confident ERP navigation, the ability to interpret demand signals, and ownership of material flow that extends to a secondary facility outside the country with internal supplier-style coordination and high transaction volume. Responsibilities Execute MRP-driven purchasing activities to support a high-volume manufacturing environment focused on molded components, including raw materials, resins, and hardware. Manage approximately 30-40 purchase orders per week, ensuring accuracy, timely placement, and on-time delivery. Monitor and interpret demand signals from the ERP system to plan material requirements and adjust purchasing decisions proactively. Ensure continuous production by coordinating with suppliers to resolve material shortages, delivery issues, and quality-related concerns. Work cross-functionally with production, planning, and engineering teams to align schedules, prioritize orders, and support changing operational needs. Coordinate material flow and purchasing activities for a secondary facility outside the country, acting as an internal supplier and managing high transaction volumes. Balance planning and purchasing responsibilities, dedicating roughly half of the time to each function. Maintain and update ERP records, purchase orders, and planning data to ensure accurate inventory and demand visibility. Expedite materials when necessary to support urgent production requirements and minimize downtime. Monitor supplier performance and collaborate with internal teams to address issues impacting delivery, quality, or cost. Support end-to-end supply chain visibility by providing clear updates on material status, risks, and constraints to internal stakeholders. Adapt to organizational changes, including those driven by acquisitions, and help refine processes in a dynamic environment. Collaborate with a lean, cross-functional team, contributing to continuous improvement of planning and procurement processes. Take ownership of assigned commodities, suppliers, and planning responsibilities, stepping into decision-making and problem-solving quickly. Leverage ERP and related systems extensively to manage orders, track transactions, and support operational decision-making. Essential Skills Experience in a planner and procurement role within a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Glovia, SAP, or similar platforms, including strong navigation skills. Ability to execute MRP-driven purchasing and interpret demand signals to drive material planning and buying decisions. Background in manufacturing, with exposure to discrete or molded products strongly preferred. Proven ability to manage a high volume of purchase orders and transactional workload each week. Experience working cross-functionally with production, planning, engineering, and suppliers. Demonstrated comfort working in ambiguity and adapting to active organizational changes, including acquisitions. Ability to ramp up quickly, learn new systems and processes, and assume ownership of responsibilities. Experience balancing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Eligibility under ITAR requirements as a U.S. Person. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Experience with molded components, raw materials, resins, and hardware procurement. Familiarity with both planning and purchasing responsibilities, with the ability to split time effectively between the two. Exposure to lean, cross-functional teams and environments with high dependency across functions. Interest in gaining end-to-end supply chain visibility and hands-on ERP and operations experience. Desire to step into ownership quickly and contribute within a stable organization that operates with startup-like site dynamics. Work Environment This is a fully in-office, on-site role on a first-shift schedule in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position involves a high-volume transactional workload and requires frequent use of ERP systems throughout the day. The team operates in a lean structure with high cross-functional dependency, encouraging close collaboration with production, planning, engineering, and other operational groups. The environment combines the stability of a larger organization with the agility and dynamic feel of a startup-like site, offering strong visibility to leadership and the opportunity to take ownership quickly. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX 75024. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $40.86/hr.
