Purchasing Full Job Description Responsibilities:

The Purchasing Buyer is responsible for research, selection and purchasing of quality products and materials. Purchasing buyer shall build relationships with approved suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing and lead-time for commodities assigned to purchasing buyer. Purchasing Buyer shall assist Director with suppliers' performance, such as timely delivery and meeting industrial standards and quality. The purchasing buyer must be willing to function as a team member and aim to exceed all manager's requests.

Goals:

Specific department goals include: Process company requisitions and update management on status of orders. Daily use of MRP to monitor late order, inventory and ensure that stock levels are at appropriate levels for ERP Demand. Work with internal chief scheduler and notify scheduling for all items that will not meet the "need by" date. Support as needed cost estimating department for raw material or component lead-time, pricing, and assist, as needed, to reconcile a purchase order when needed. Buyer will need to be able to use Epicor MRP to validate internal job traveler material status, track the monthly report of purchase order deliveries, and investigate other job traveler information.

Reports to the Director of Procurement.

General Expectations Include:

: Adhere to procurement team metrics laid out by the director; maintain the strategy used to keep pace with production needs; must be able to interpret job documents including basic blueprints and travelers; able to order parts for a job within the accepted guidelines of efficiency. : Follow all expectations and performance standards set up by the department director; discover potential suppliers for the company and facilitate with director with onboarding procedures; attend all department meetings set up by the director. : Assist all team members as needed; provide support to all internal departments as it pertains to purchase order status. : Strive to maintain an ethical, non-discriminatory, and safe work environment; follow effective communication lines/methods; see management for any conflict and problems that occur; maintain a clean and organized working area. Always strive for improvement in product throughput and quality. Special Skills, Knowledge, Abilities High school diploma or equivalent. College education Preferred good computer skills, competence in using Microsoft office software. Prior 2-5 years of experience buying materials/components is required. Must be able to communicate in a positive manner with vendors, suppliers, and internal employees.
