: High School Diploma or Equivalent Six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY
: Responsible purchasing food, supplies and equipment for the Child Nutrition Department in compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for preparing formal and informal bid documents assisting in the review and evaluation of bids, and processing bids in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines and regulations. 2. Solicits informal quotations for product as needed and maintains records of informal quotes. 3. Places orders for food and supplies stocked in the School Nutrition Warehouse and follows up on late deliveries. 4. Monitors vendors that deliver directly to school cafeterias to ensure that goods and services are responsive to individual schools needs. 5. Communicates with the menu planning Dietitian on delayed orders that will impact the planned menu. 6. Reviews and monitors bids and contracts that have been awarded to ensure that all specifications are met for delivered product. 7. Assists with the planning and management of commodity allocations from the Texas Department of Agriculture, processing manufacturers, and USDA Foods supply channels. 8. Coordinates communication between vendors and the department on product recalls and quality concerns. . 9. Maintains a master list of vendor contacts for School Nutrition Services bid solicitations. 10. Works with the School Nutrition Services Financial Analyst and Warehouse Supervisor to safeguard inventory assets by conducting periodic physical inventory. 11. Researches best practices and develops procedures for procurement and record keeping. 12. Maintains a tracking tool for all nondomestic food purchases throughout the year for audit purposes. 13. Assists in the review of departmental records, reports, documentation, and operating procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, USDA and TDA rules, local board policy, and administrative regulations. 14. Reviews the forecasting, bid, ordering, inventory and distribution flow and provides recommendations for process improvements. 15. Serve as team member on various special projects as assigned. 16. Maintains confidentiality of information. 17. Reports to work on time every day. 18. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak and communicate effectively with groups of customers and employees Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Valid Texas Driver's License with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District Knowledge of school fund accounting policies and procedures Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and formulate recommendations Skill in using related software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)PHYSICAL DEMANDS
