Job Description

This vacancy is for a GS-1105-7/8/9, Purchasing Agent located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OPERATING
LOCATION-SFLC
CONTRACT and
PROCURE BRANCH 1-NORFOLK VA
in Norfolk. VA.
Qualifications:
You MUST meet the following requirements: To qualify at the GS- 9 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-8 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Experience providing support to customers by obtaining the goods and services requested. Experience analyzing all assigned requests for procurements received for adequacy, completeness, clarity and funding. Experience with various purchasing procedures such a Acquisitions laws and regulations, the Federal Property and Administrative Service Act (FPASA), and the Federal Acquisitions Regulations goverrning purchasing work. T qualify at the GS-08 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Monitoring contract administration until final delivery and payments are completed and the contract is closed and retired Evaluating contractor performance (i.e., through telephone conversations, correspondence, reports, vouchers) Providing advice to purchasing agents/contract specialists during the course of soliciting offers To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Experience purchasing a wide variety of materials, supplies, services, construction, and/or equipment using SAP and/or other open market methods. Experience analyzing information for pre-solicitation packages and, through independent research, uses specialized technical knowledge to validate the accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness of pre solicitation packages. Experience independently communicating information to suppliers with suggested revisions and/or resolutions.
