- Full-time Job Summary Premier Homes Group LLC is one of Northern Virginia's premier luxury custom home builders specializing in high-end custom residences throughout McLean, Vienna, Fairfax, and surrounding markets.
We are seeking an experienced Estimator / Purchasing Agent to join our growing team. This is a key leadership position responsible for estimating, purchasing, vendor management, budgeting, and cost control for luxury residential construction projects ranging Responsibilities Prepare detailed construction estimates and budgets for custom homes. Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids. Negotiate pricing and contracts with vendors and trade partners. Create and manage purchase orders. Develop and maintain estimating databases and cost libraries. Track material pricing and market trends. Coordinate purchasing for multiple projects simultaneously. Review plans, specifications, engineering, and selections for completeness. Work closely with architects, project managers, superintendents, and ownership. Identify value engineering opportunities without sacrificing quality. Monitor job costs and report budget variances. Assist with product selection and vendor sourcing. Support scheduling and procurement of long-lead materials. Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of residential construction estimating or purchasing experience. Preferred Qualifications Luxury custom home construction experience. Experience with off-site manufacturing, wall panels, floor systems, and roof trusses. Knowledge of Fairfax County and Northern Virginia construction practices. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field. Software Experience Required Buildertrend Microsoft Excel (Advanced) Microsoft Word Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Teams Adobe Acrobat Bluebeam Revu Microsoft Project (preferred) Software Experience Preferred Sage 100 Contractor QuickBooks Enterprise PlanSwift Stack Construction Technologies Buildertrend Cost Management AutoCAD (basic plan review) SketchUp (basic understanding) AI tools including ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and construction estimating software Strong understanding of residential construction methods and materials. Experience reading architectural plans, structural plans, and engineering documents. Excellent organizational and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Professional communication skills.
