Full-time Accepting applications for part-time and full-time positions! The Country Store is the retail division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified local agricultural supply cooperative. Skagit Farmers Supply was founded in Burlington, WA in 1934 and has grown into four main business units: agronomy, retail, energy, and wholesale distribution & milling. Our mission is to serve the community to preserve and enhance the viability of the agriculture economy. The Country Store provides quality goods and services for all "Farm-Pet-Home" needs! The Company owns and operates multiple Country Stores throughout Washington and Montana. As a Pet Category Specialist, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming and knowledgeable shopping experience for our customers. From offering expert advice on pet products to maintaining well-stocked and organized displays, this position is perfect for someone who's passionate about animals and enjoys helping others. Job Duties & Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, understanding their needs, and offering product recommendations. Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for customers' needs. Answer customers questions about merchandise and assist customers with purchase decisions. Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills. Complete sales transactions and process returns accurately using the point-of-sale system. Monitor all merchandise for correct location assignments, accurate and clean bin labels, expired products, and stock rotation. Assist with loading/unloading products for customers. Restock shelves and warehouse inventory; assemble displays and merchandise as needed. Meet with store manager monthly to discuss department goals and expectations. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships. Practice punctual and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Product knowledge in pet food, health and other related supplies. Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently. Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds. Professional appearance and demeanor. Demonstrate basic computer skills, including navigating websites and receiving/sending emails. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a retail setting. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Epicor or similar retail point of sale software. Experience using radio frequency (RF) scanning technology and equipment. Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies.Schedule Full-time:
40 hours/week;Part-time:
24-32 hours/week. Sunday through Saturday (schedule will vary). Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed. Compensation & Benefits $17.50 - $21.00/hour.
