Position Summary:
Purchases materials, off the shelf items, parts, supplies and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures. Optimizes price, delivery and terms. This is an intermediate level position who typically purchases $3.5 to $10 million per year.
Responsibilities:
Reviews MRP requirements and creates purchase orders as needed Owns the MRO purchasing side of the business Analyzes and maintains open purchase orders; follows-up and expedites as necessary Provide weekly updates to scheduler for past due orders Reports on the progress of work, inventory levels, and production challenges to all applicable stakeholders, including management Performs all necessary activities and coordinates with all applicable departments to ensure adequate parts inventory levels for short and medium term production needs Manage VMI systems with specific suppliers Manage kanban items on shop floor and coordinate with suppliers Required Education / Experience /
Skills:
Excel, Word, ERP system, experience with Oracle is preferred Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods is required Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods and coordination of people and resources are desired High School Diploma or GED Associates Degree is preferred 3+ years of related experience Founded in 1961, WEG is a global electric-electronic equipment company, operating mainly in the capital goods sector with solutions in electric machines, automation and paints for several sectors, including infrastructure, steel, pulp and paper, oil and gas, mining, among many others. Industrial Electro-Electronic Equipment This area includes electric motors, drives and industrial automation equipment and services, and maintenance services. Commercial and Appliance Motors In this business area, our focus is the market of single phase motors for durable consumer goods, such as washing machines, air conditioners, water pumps, among others. Paints and Varnishes In this area, which includes liquid paints, powder paints, and electro-insulating varnishes, we have a very clear focus on industrial applications in Brazil and are expanding to Latin America and other regions.
