Job Description

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide. Job Purpose The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Procurement Analyst is responsible for the management of special cost processes, creating and delivering required reports, performing detailed analysis on any aspect of the supply chain as requested, and researching data trends. This role will coordinate a wide range of accounting and analytical related functions in support of the procurement of MRC's goods and services with an overall goal to ensure cost accuracy. Key Duties & Responsibilities The Role's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work Procurement Match Error report on a daily basis to ensure payments are made to core vendors on a timely basis. Analyze sales history data for compliance with special cost arrangements. Prepare periodic reports (monthly, quarterly, annually, and ad-hoc) as required. Facilitate, analyze, and manage special costing programs. Create and execute analyses necessary to advance various strategic initiatives, including market sizing, vendor profiling, competitor profiling, customer account analysis, and profitability analysis of goods and services. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience, which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. 2+ years of relevant experience in procurement or financial analysis. Skills & Abilities High level of proficiency and accuracy in computer skills, including MRC Global specific software reporting, Data Warehouse, Monarch, and MS Office products, including Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, as well as internal departments (i.e., Accounting, CDC/Pricing, Finance, I/S, Traffic, etc.). Attention to detail, good decision-making skills, and the willingness to exercise them. Self-motivated, strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in the review and entry of data. Working Conditions Most work is performed at a desk or in front of a computer.
