Job Description

Lead Locally is hiring a cohort of part-time organizing fellows (10 hours/week) in Arizona and Pennsylvania to get out the vote for crucial down-ballot elections where we have an opportunity to win on climate justice. Fellows will be connected to exciting candidates campaigning for state legislature in Arizona and Pennsylvania and will receive training and coaching on get-out-the-vote skills like canvassing and phone banking from experienced organizers.
Details:
Timeline:
The fellowship will run from the week of July 20 through the week of August 24, with an option to extend through Election Day on November 2. Hours will include a mix of weekday and weekend evening times in order to reach a wide range of voters.
Compensation:
Fellows will be paid $25/hour for approximately 10 hours per week
Priority Locations:
We are considering applicants from throughout Arizona and Pennsylvania. Priority location in AZ is the greater Phoenix area, specifically in or near Chandler, Glendale, Peioria, and Sun City. Priority locations in PA are in Luzerne County, Northern Bucks County, Lehigh County, and Northern Montgomery County.
Transportation:
Consistent access to a car is required.
Application Deadline:
We encourage interested applicants to complete this brief application form by end of day on Sunday, June 28 (note: we have extended the priority application deadline). We will invite qualified candidates to interview in late June or early July, with the aim of making offers to candidates by July 10. More about
Lead Locally:
Lead Locally started in 2016 to build power for down ballot races at the city, state, and county level to support candidates that pledge to fight for climate justice and block new fossil fuel infrastructure in their districts. We know that if we're to maintain a livable climate for future generations, we need cities and states to step up to ensure the transition to clean energy at every level. As the federal government rolls back critical investments in climate action and environmental justice, we need to elect candidates that will ensure states transition to a clean energy economy, reject new fossil fuel infrastructure, and advocate for environmental justice policy.
