Freight Payables Associate

Description & Requirements:

Freight Payables Position Overview:

Efficiently and accurately review and process shipping paperwork, including bills of lading and receipts. Prepares carrier payments and customer invoices Communicates regularly with agents, carriers and other associates via telephone, email and one-on-one conversations.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, match and review bill of ladings, check requests and other related document correct load information. Codes, verifies and electronically enters invoicing and paying data into application. Scans and classifies paperwork to correct load. Submits reviewed loads to Broker for approval via the application. Verifies, posts and prints payment to carrier. Prints and mails invoices to customers.

Other Responsibilities:

Follows up on missing paperwork or information with the carriers via email and / or telephone. Communicates with broker any issues with loads and / or carriers. Serves as a liaison between agent and carrier in the resolution of administration problems and inquiries. Contacts appropriate manager for assistance as required. Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school diploma. Experience /

Skills Required:

2 + years' experience, preferably in the transportation industry. Quick learner of proprietary software to compile information and prepare reports. Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and post records. Effectively communicates with all levels of the company and carriers via telephone, email or in person. Flexibility to switch projects as directed based on urgency. Utilizes independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information. Bilingual a plus. John J.
