Job Description

at Mediterranean Shipping Company (USA), Inc. in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description Establish and conduct organizational studies and evaluations of export activities and assess the company's efficiency in the management of export services across the United States. Gather information and data regarding container moves, shipment types, operational disruptions, delays, and rollovers, and document findings in reports for use by the company's Accounting & Finance Team, Equipment Planning Team, Safety, Security & Compliance Team, and Legal & Claims Team. Provide predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions in the area of export operations management. Monitor key performance indicators (KPI's). Perform cost analysis to evaluate and recommend changes to export logistics, including container allocation, transportation, scheduling, and related activities. Analyze and evaluate the operational and cost impact of handling specialized export shipments, including out-of-gauge and project cargo, and develop recommendations to improve efficiency, resource allocation, and service delivery. Conduct organizational assessments of processes related to special project export services and propose data-driven strategies to optimize planning, coordination, and execution of complex cargo movements. Assist in the development of strategically effective operational and management strategies to address specific organizational problems related to export service performance and cargo flow. Assist in the oversight and preparation of quantitative operational analysis of data, volumes, and costs and draft operational forecasts to assess the impact of market developments on the company's export operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as Operations Analyst, Logistics Analyst, Business Development Analyst or related position. Related experience must be in the container carrying or freight forwarding industry and include knowledge of special project cargo export operations.
