We seek a motivated and enthusiastic high school student to join our community college summer internship program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop essential skills, and explore potential career paths. As an intern, you will be exposed to various aspects of our institution and support our mission to provide high-quality education and services to our community. Responsibilities/Learning Outcomes
  • Develop insight into career fields of interest and potential opportunities.
  • Work within various departments and programs throughout the college.
  • Complete daily office and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Acquire experience and develop new skills to add to a resume.
  • Build a network of career professionals to enhance college applications and other self-chosen post-graduation academic and career paths. Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Be at least 16 years old and a junior, senior, or will be a recent graduate from a Will County High School.
  • Students will be required to have their own transportation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with common software applications.
  • A willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
  • Enthusiasm for education and community engagement. Duration
  • The internship begins as soon as the student(s) are on summer break and continues for a total of 6 weeks.
  • Every internship offered varies in length of internship, hours required each week, physical demand, and location. Physical Demands
  • Normal office physical demands.
  • Duties are performed indoors in the usual office environment, along with other areas of campus.
  • This paid internship meets the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and complies with all state laws regarding interns.

ANNUAL CLERY SAFETY REPORT
(ASR) NOTICE Joliet Junior College is committed to assisting members of the JJC community in providing for their own safety and security. The annual CLERY security report is available at the JJC Police Department website: along with other safety information. If you would like to receive the ASR in booklet form, you may stop by the Campus Police Department located on Main Campus in G-1024 or call Campus Police at 815-280-2234. The website and booklet contain information regarding campus security and personal safety such as crime prevention and reporting, police law enforcement authority, disciplinary procedures and other related security policies. They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous years for all JJC campuses, property owned and controlled by JJC District 525 and on public property immediately adjacent to JJC campuses. This information is required by law and is made available by the Joliet Junior College Police Department.
