Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for a reliable and experienced Shipping & Receiving / Delivery Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound freight, managing receiving operations at our facility, and making local and regional deliveries of steel and fabricated materials. Duties Operate a heavy-duty truck (Ford F-550 or similar) with a gooseneck trailer to transport steel, raw materials, and fabricated products safely Load and unload materials, including heavy steel components, using forklifts or other equipment as needed Inspect loads for proper securement before each trip in compliance with DOT regulations Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, inspect for damage, and document discrepancies Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, packing slips, and delivery documentation Coordinate with the shop floor and office staff on delivery schedules and material needs Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs Continuously look for ways to improve and simplify processes in shipping and receiving operations Keep shipping/receiving area clean and organized .
Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required) Proven experience operating a heavy-duty truck (Ford F-550 or similar) with a loaded gooseneck trailer — required Experience in a shipping/receiving role, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or steel/metal industry Ability to safely handle and secure heavy loads Forklift experience a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs regularly Comfortable working in an outdoor/shop environment in varying weather conditions.
