OVERVIEW

Freight company with multiple locations, in business 33 years requires a Charlotte-based Terminal Manager. Hours do vary but are typically 7 am to 5 pm. and out-of-hours responsiveness is required. Experience in last-mile freight operations is a must. Reports directly to SVP Operations & Compliance and Company Owner.

SKILLSET

This is a fast-paced position for a very strong Operations Manager who is also confident and competent to fulfil the broad administrative duties of running this terminal. Must be able to show proven ability to multi-task and, where and when necessary, sit at a desk to direct dispatch and/or get out in the warehouse to help stage freight. A 'get it done' attitude and enjoyment of challenges is critically important, this is not an industry for pen-pushers or 'not-my-job' types•the right candidate mustn't be scared to jump in and show how it's done. Customer service is primary, as is managing, routing and dealing with the dispatch and warehouse team, drivers, vendors and a mixed fleet of Tractor/Trailers and Straight Trucks. Along with a customer friendly and detail-oriented personality, a candidate must have impeccable organizational skills. This position is multi-faceted and self-motivation is key. This opportunity will be both interesting and exciting for the right self-starter person who thrives by taking control of events rather than reacting to them.

OUR BUSINESS MIX

We have a large mix of business inclusive Local P&D, dedicated 7-day week local lanes (Tractors and Straight Trucks), Hot-Shots, Special Tech Installs with 2, or 3, man deliveries, Short-term warehousing, Ocean Freight De-vanning, Air Cargo PMC break-downs, retail roll-outs and asset recoveries. Charlotte is also a hub for our overnight line haul operations.

Punctual with reliable transport to work Professional attitude with a 'will-do/can-do' attitude' Ability to multi-task and manage resources with competing needs Familiarity with all Microsoft products Knowledge of Charlotte/wider NC geography definitely a good thing. Clean background•we are a Bonded Customs Station and handle TSA certified air cargo and do background checks. We have a mandatory company-wide zero tolerance drug policy.

COMPENSATION

Pay:

$80,000.00 per Annum, plus Performance Bonus opportunity of $4500 per Quarter. Salary paid weekly in arrears direct into bank, excellent paid-time off policy, quarterly management incentive bonus program, pension plan, and health/dental/vision etc. included. Full Benefits package as well, with good PTO.
