Our Brokerage Division is actively looking to partner with experienced cradle to grave freight brokers/agents who are currently building and diversifying a book of business, have a passion for moving freight and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. This is a 1099 at will contract role providing strong splits that are commensurate with your book of business. You will run your own shop powered by UVL's back office and technology which provides you with more time to concentrate on what you do best…finding and moving freight. Duties Develop new business opportunities through lead generation, inside sales, and B2B outreach to expand our freight brokerage network. Manage your existing customer accounts by providing tailored transportation solutions, ensuring elevated levels of satisfaction and retention. Coordinate freight shipments by negotiating rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers and clients using transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM software. Oversee transportation planning and dispatching activities, including carrier selection, scheduling, and tracking shipments to meet delivery deadlines. Maintain accurate data entry for shipment details, pricing information, and compliance documentation. Foster strong relationships with carriers by managing carrier sales, dispatching, and negotiations to optimize capacity utilization and service quality. Qualifications A minimum of 1 year serving as a freight broker/agent. Proven cradle to grave experience, or logistics sales with a focus on freight brokerage or 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) services. They are currently building and managing a book of customers/shippers. Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, DAT and ITS. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive rates while maintaining profitable margins. Familiarity with logistics operations including dispatching, transportation planning, carrier relations, and contract management Knowledge of FDA regulations relevant to specific freight types is a plus. Effective communication skills for building customer relationships and collaborating with internal teams.
