Job Description

Buffkin/Baker is pleased to assist Emmaus Catholic Hospice , located in Denver, Colorado, in the retained executive search for a Chief Executive Officer . Emmaus Catholic Hospice (ECH) provides Catholic home hospice care, support, and education to honor each person served. They offer spiritual care and prioritize access to the sacraments alongside exceptional clinical care. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for all overall leadership and management of ECH including setting the vision and strategy, managing overall performance, and achieving the mission and vision of the organization. This role integrates the operational, financial, clinical, and pastoral dimensions of executive hospice leadership, fostering a culture of reverence for life, service to the suffering, and holistic care that unites medical excellence with spiritual care.
Qualifications:
The CEO will: Develop and implement strategic and organizational plans to support growth, including census growth, program expansion, staffing, and facility partnerships Lead the executive team to achieve excellence in patient care, staff engagement, fiscal and operational strength, and mission integration Promote a workplace culture that embodies Gospel values (love (charity), humility, mercy, forgiveness justice and care for the poor), as well as integrity, transparency, ownership and commitment The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic who has previous senior leadership experience, strong business acumen, and community relations. Previous experience in hospice a plus. An individual with a bachelor s degree in healthcare, business or related field is required.
