Job Description

Job Summary The Board President serves as the chief volunteer leader of the organization's governing body, guiding strategic direction, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring the organization fulfills its mission effectively. This dynamic role requires a passionate leader with a deep understanding of business management, strategic planning, and senior leadership. The Board President inspires and mobilizes board members, staff, and community partners to advance organizational goals while maintaining transparency and accountability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of a mission-driven organization dedicated to making a meaningful impact. Duties Lead board meetings, setting agendas that align with strategic priorities and ensuring productive discussions. Collaborate closely with the executive director or CEO to support organizational leadership and operational excellence. Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, and inclusion among board members and staff. Oversee the development and implementation of strategic plans that drive growth, sustainability, and community impact. Act as a primary ambassador for the organization, cultivating relationships with donors, partners, government agencies, and community stakeholders. Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and ethical standards by overseeing governance policies and practices. Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities for growth and expansion. Supervise financial management activities in partnership with finance committees to ensure fiscal responsibility. Qualifications Proven experience in business management or senior leadership roles with demonstrated success in strategic planning and organizational oversight. Strong background in management, supervising teams, and leading diverse groups toward common goals. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate others and foster collaborative decision-making. Knowledge of financial management principles including budgeting, financial oversight, and resource allocation. Experience in business development or cultivating partnerships to expand organizational reach. Exceptional communication skills to effectively represent the organization publicly and internally. Ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships while maintaining transparency and integrity.
