Section Chief, Neonatology Dartmouth Health Children's and Geisel School of Medicine The Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health Children's and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks an exceptional neonatologist to be the next leader for its Section of Neonatology. The Section created and continues to host the first neonatal intensive care unit in New Hampshire, the Intensive Care Nursery (ICN) at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon. We seek candidates with the appetite and aptitude for leadership within a complex regional system for perinatal care. Dartmouth Health Children's is the pediatric service of Dartmouth Health (DH), an integrated academic healthcare delivery system for northern New England anchored by DHMC, which is recognized by US News & World Report as the Best Hospital in

is home to over 50 graduate medical education programs, including a fellowship in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine, and CHaD
  • Children's Hospital at DHMC
  • NH's only children's hospital and the flagship for Dartmouth Health Children's, which provides an extended system of care with primary, specialty, and advanced tertiary pediatric services, including an inpatient pediatric unit with PICU at CHaD.
Dartmouth Health Children's is committed to addressing inequities that prevent all children and adolescents from living their healthiest, happiest lives. The Section of Neonatology includes 7 neonatologists and over a dozen advanced practice providers who provide care for infants in the ICN, a 30-bed regional Level
IV NICU. DHMC
is the primary referral center for high-risk maternal fetal care in the region, serving medical and surgical patients from most of New Hampshire and eastern Vermont.   • support for emergent care and consultation to referring labor and delivery centers.
An emerging partnership with the Level
III NICU
at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, the largest population center in the state, will create a regional program in neonatology that will be a focus for the next Section Chief to guide. Teaching fellowship trainees in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, pediatric residents, and medical students are priorities of the Section. Appointment at The Geisel School of Medicine at a senior rank commensurate with portfolio is therefore expected. Academic opportunities abound across the Dartmouth ecosystem: the Section has a long track record in Quality Improvement as a founding member of the Vermont Oxford Network along with health services research in partnership with The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, as well as a strong engagement in global health and clinical research.   • Graduate of accredited medical school with 5 years of experience in health care leadership.
  • Ability to relate to and effectively manage relationships with physicians, administrators, support staff and the general public with a high degree of tact and discretion.
  • Proven communication and presentation skills. Ability to interact with providers, frontline staff and external stakeholders in small and large group venues.
  • Licensed and Practicing physician in NH, with desire to continue active clinical practice. Required Licensure/Certifications
