- Full-time Position Overview We are seeking a high-level Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as the operational leader and right hand to ownership in a growing commercial concrete construction company.
This role is responsible for overseeing field operations, project execution, leadership development, accountability, scheduling, profitability, and company-wide systems. We are looking for a potential business partner if we find the right candidate. The ideal candidate is a proven concrete construction leader who can manage both people and operations while helping scale the company with integrity, excellence, and strong leadership. This is not simply a project management role — this is a key executive leadership position with significant influence over the future direction and health of the company. You will be the right-hand man of the owner. We are building a company culture focused on: integrity ownership mentality strong work ethic leadership development teamwork operational excellence Responsibilities Operational Leadership Oversee day-to-day company operations Lead field operations, project management, and production teams Improve operational efficiency and accountability Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and profitably Coordinate manpower, equipment, logistics, and scheduling Financial & Project Oversight Monitor project budgets, labor productivity, and profitability Review project cost reports and forecasts Assist with estimating strategy and risk management Improve systems that protect company margins and cash flow Leadership & Culture Develop and mentor superintendents, foremen, and project managers Help establish a strong culture of accountability and ownership Lead meetings and communicate company vision and expectations Address operational problems quickly and effectively Strategic Growth Work directly with ownership on company growth initiatives Help improve systems, processes, and organizational structure Assist in scaling operations responsibly and sustainably Support recruiting and retention of top talent Qualifications 10+ years experience in commercial concrete construction Proven leadership experience managing large crews and multiple projects Strong understanding of: structural concrete foundations slabs tilt-up civil/site concrete scheduling and manpower planning Experience overseeing project managers and field leadership Strong financial and operational understanding Ability to lead under pressure and solve problems quickly Excellent communication and leadership skills High character, integrity, and accountability Preferred Experience in Alaska or remote construction environments Commercial Concrete Estimating Experience scaling a growing construction company OSHA/safety leadership background Estimating or preconstruction experience Compensation & Benefits Competitive executive-level salary Company vehicle Fuel card Potential profit-sharing or long-term incentive opportunities Expected Compensation Range $185,000
