Fresno, CA Job Details $225,000 - $240,000 a year 7 days ago Qualifications Power plant experience Change management Bachelor's degree Team management Full Job Description Overview As the Chief Operations Officer based in Fresno, CA, you will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and will be tasked with establishing and expanding centralized operations functions for a diverse generation portfolio spanning multiple sites. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing standardized operating procedures, integrating new assets and teams, and collaborating with various departments to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations that can support future growth.Initial Focus:
Key Responsibilities Evaluate current operational practices and performance across the fleet, identifying areas for improvement and risk mitigation. Establish a centralized operating model that balances consistency with local accountability. Standardize operating practices, procedures, and management systems across all sites in the portfolio. Implement uniform O&M processes and performance metrics to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness. Build a structured approach to performance management aligned with key operational goals and objectives. Develop strategies for integrating new acquisitions and sites into existing operational standards and systems. Key Responsibilities Drive operational excellence in safety, compliance, reliability, efficiency, and cost management. Collaborate with other departments to align operational priorities with financial and strategic objectives. Lead planning cycles for O&M budgets, outage schedules, and capital investments. Manage vendor relationships and contracts to optimize performance and costs. Identify and address operational risks to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance. Support growth initiatives through operational due diligence and integration planning. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field; 10+ years of experience in power generation operations with leadership roles. Proven track record in building and implementing standardized operational systems. Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills. Preferred Experience Experience in M&A, multi-technology environments, financial analysis, and safety leadership. Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor teams for performance and growth. Physical Requirements & Environment Must be able to perform physical tasks and work in potentially hazardous conditions. Travel to plant locations and work non-traditional hours as needed.
