The Year 1 General Manager will ensure the safe, compliant, and performance driven activation and operation of a large North American portfolio of utility scale Solar and Energy Storage assets. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Renewable Operations Integration, this role serves as the critical bridge between project commissioning and long term operational excellence ensuring every site achieves commercial readiness, meets key performance indicators and transitions seamlessly to the Operations organization. The preferred location for this position is Juno Beach, FL; however, other locations may be considered for the right candidate. What You Will Do Champion a world class safety culture across all sites, setting the standard for how NextEra operates in the field
Lead end to end operational readiness from site initiation through structured turnover to Operations including staffing, procedure development, compliance framework establishment and warranty management
Partner with OEMs and Engineering to resolve technical issues with urgency and precision, ensuring minimal impact to project timelines and asset performance
Oversee site and fleet level budget development, inventory controls and SOX compliance
Drive environmental compliance and regulatory adherence across a geographically diverse portfolio
Build and develop high performing teams through strategic hiring, structured training programs and a culture of accountability
Serve as a senior point of contact for community stakeholders, regulatory agencies, landowners and equipment manufacturers
Support the broader renewables recruiting and workforce development strategy What You Will Bring Demonstrated leadership in managing complex, multi-site operations in fast-paced environments
Strong technical foundation with hands-on field services experience in solar and/or energy storage
Exceptional project management capabilities with a track record of flawless execution under competing priorities
Six Sigma certification or equivalent quality management discipline
Sound financial acumen, including budget oversight and inventory management
Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time and maintain a valid passport Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
5+ years of experience in engineering, solar and energy storage construction, or field operations
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Job Overview Leaders in this role oversee a team at a generation facility. Individuals are accountable for all aspects of the management and performance of both the physical and human assets in their assigned facility.

Manages the technical performance of the plant
Develops and manages site budget
Leads the safety of the facility and personnel
Complies with all regulations and policies
Oversees personnel development and succession planning
Drives the continuous improvement of performance
