Job Description:

Korn Ferry is conducting a search on behalf of a well-established, high-impact industry association representing franchised businesses across a major U.S. state. This organization serves as a leading voice in shaping policy, advocating for member interests, and advancing a critical sector of the state's economy. The President will serve as the organization's chief executive, leading overall strategy, operations, and advocacy efforts. This individual will partner closely with the Board of Directors to drive organizational priorities, represent the industry at the highest levels, and ensure long-term growth, relevance, and member value. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a blend of executive leadership, government affairs expertise, and stakeholder engagement across a complex regulatory and political landscape. Key Responsibilities Lead all aspects of the organization, including operations, communications, advocacy, education, and member services Direct state and federal legislative strategy, lobbying efforts, and regulatory engagement to advance member interests Serve as the primary spokesperson with policymakers, industry leaders, media, and key stakeholders Advise the Board on strategy, industry trends, and emerging risks impacting the sector Drive membership engagement, growth, and value creation through innovative programs and services Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, fundraising, and long-term sustainability initiatives Ideal Candidate Profile Proven executive leadership experience within an association, regulated industry, or similarly complex environment Deep understanding of legislative, regulatory, and political processes, with demonstrated advocacy success Experience engaging with policymakers and managing lobbying or government affairs strategies Strong organizational leadership with experience overseeing teams, operations, and financial performance Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels Strategic, collaborative leader with sound judgment and high integrity Education Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
