Summary:
The Hospice Executive Director II provides leadership for multiple hospice agencies or a large, complex hospice location. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, survey readiness, teammate development, and census growth. The Executive Director II collaborates across functions to maintain regulatory compliance, deliver high-quality care, and support strategic initiatives aligned with company goals and joint venture partnerships. Operational Oversight & Quality
  • Lead daily operations across multiple hospice agencies or a high-volume site
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and state/federal hospice regulations
  • Maintain ongoing regulatory survey readiness and oversee corrective action plans as needed
  • Drive clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and financial health within assigned sites
  • Strategic & Community Engagement
  • Collaborate with Regional Vice President, Joint Venture leaders, and medical staff to align on priorities and ensure seamless care delivery
  • Support agency growth through community outreach and relationship development with key referral sources and partners
  • Participate in local strategic planning and contribute to market-level initiatives
  • Growth & Business Development
  • Monitor and respond to utilization trends, referral patterns, and growth opportunities
  • Partner with sales leadership to align growth efforts with operational capacity
  • Contribute to market and agency census strategies through leadership of local initiatives
  • Workforce & Team Development
  • Hire, coach, and develop agency leaders and teams, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Ensure proper staffing and training levels to support quality patient care and sustainable agency operations
  • Identify future leaders and support their growth and retention
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Management:
  • Directly supervise Clinical Managers, Sales Managers, and office leaders across assigned sites
  • Set clear expectations and performance goals; conduct regular check-ins and annual reviews
  • Lead by example in promoting accountability, professionalism, and teamwork
  • Collaborate with HR to support recruitment, engagement, coaching, and workforce planning
  • Participate in succession planning and mentor future leaders within the organization
  • Ensure staff and leaders are aligned with clinical, regulatory, and operational goals
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in hospice, including multi-site or complex agency oversight
  • Deep knowledge of Medicare hospice Conditions of Participation and state/federal regulations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and operational problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record of census growth, survey success, and high-performing teams
  • Willingness to travel within assigned markets
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred in healthcare administration, business, nursing, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered #
