Job Summary:
The Facilities Operations Technician
- Level 3 performs entry-level facilities operations, including monitoring, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems under close supervision.
This role supports the safe and reliable operation of facility utilities and infrastructure by following established procedures, work instructions, and guidance from senior technicians and leadership. The technician responds to routine operational issues and assists with repairs while developing technical skills and gaining hands-on experience across facility systems. This position is responsible for learning fundamental processes, adhering to safety and compliance standards, and contributing to overall team effectiveness within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties:
Functional Operations:
Perform routine rounds on mechanical and electrical systems under close supervision Assist with basic troubleshooting and repairs using standard tools, equipment, and work instructions Serve as a first responder to operational issues by escalating and supporting resolution efforts Monitor basic facility systems including compressed air, HVAC, electrical distribution, and water systems Support utility restoration efforts during system interruptions under guidance Use basic measuring and diagnostic tools to monitor system performance Operate and maintain tools and equipment within functional area
Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
Identify and report equipment abnormalities, inefficiencies, or potential issues to senior technicians Support continuous improvement initiatives by following established processes and providing feedback Participate in basic problem-solving activities and team improvement discussions
Training & Team Support:
Train and mentor team members at the same or lower level Actively participate in on-the-job training and skill development activities Demonstrate willingness to learn new systems, processes, and technical skills
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner Work with vendors, contractors, and internal teams under direction to support maintenance and operations Communicate clearly regarding system status, issues, and completed work
Quality, Safety, & Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements at all times Support proper implementation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation in CMMS Follow established maintenance procedures (MOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) Uphold 6S initiatives and ensure area cleanliness is maintained to safety and operational standards Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols Maintain flexibility to work all scheduled shift hours and respond to urgent site needs when required

None Education, Certifications, and Licenses:
Required :
High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of prior experience in a facilities, maintenance, or related functional area
Preferred :
Trade school or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or a related field Relevant safety and technical certifications, such as OSHA 10 or 30, CPR, HAZWOPER, or NFPA70
E Essential Qualifications:
2+ years of facilities, industrial maintenance, or related experience Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or utility systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment Ability to follow established procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines under close supervision Ability to use basic hand tools and standard diagnostic equipment Basic ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and work orders Effective oral and written communication skills with a willingness to learn and work in a team environment Demonstrates reliability, flexibility, and strong attention to detail Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English Alignment to Panasonic's seven (7) core principles (contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitude)
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in a facilities role within a high-volume manufacturing environment (automotive or battery industry preferred) Experience using CMMS systems for maintenance tracking and work order documentation Exposure to troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or utility systems Experience working around contractors, vendors, or cross-functional teams in an industrial setting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Requirements:
To ensure health and safety in the workplace and for employee protection, wearing PPE is required and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. A respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.
