What began when Paul E. Miller bought a single Ford store on Main Street in Lexington has grown, across three generations of family ownership, into a 27-acre campus housing multiple franchised dealerships, a pre-owned operation, body shops, a commercial upfitting service, auto glass and dent repair, and heavy truck service. At Paul Miller Motor Company, we're proud to be known as "Your True Blue Dealer." This title reflects our longstanding tradition of partnering with the University of Kentucky coaches and athletes, fostering a relationship built on shared values of excellence, teamwork, and community. For seven decades, we have served the community as one Motor Company working toward a five-star experience for every customer who walks through the door. We're looking for a Fixed Operations Director who can carry that legacy forward while driving the performance, efficiency, and growth of our service and parts operations. Position Summary The Fixed Operations Director holds full responsibility for all service and parts operations across the Motor Company. This is a senior executive role accountable for the performance of our service departments, parts departments, and the technicians and advisors who power them. As a member of the executive team reporting directly to the President / General Manager, the Fixed Operations Director owns the operational and financial results of every fixed-side department. The role combines hands-on leadership of a large team with the strategic rigor required to set goals, manage profitability, and deliver consistent, measurable outcomes — all while upholding the five-star customer experience Paul Miller Motor Company has been known for since 1953. Key Responsibilities Service & Parts Operations Leadership Direct all day-to-day operations of the service and parts departments, ensuring consistent execution of dealership processes and manufacturer standards. Develop and implement sales goals and objectives for the service and parts departments, aligned with company-wide targets. Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of technicians, service advisors, and parts personnel; build bench strength and a pipeline of future leaders. Recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate all department personnel, maintaining a high-performing team capable of delivering top-tier customer experiences. Maintain superior shop standards — including cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and overall facility appearance — that reflect the Motor Company's commitment to excellence. Financial Responsibility Own the operational finance of the service and parts departments — revenue, gross profit, expense control, and net profitability. Build, monitor, and manage departmental budgets and forecasts in coordination with the President / General Manager and the executive team. Drive customer retention through strategic marketing plans and proactive communication with our customer database. Goal Setting, Tracking & Reporting Set clear, measurable performance targets for team members and departments, aligned with company objectives. Track outcomes and performance against goals, and deliver structured reporting to company leadership on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Use KPIs — including Customer Service Index (CSI) ratings, technician productivity, service absorption, parts fill rate, and retention metrics — to identify trends, address gaps, and drive continuous improvement. Achieve and sustain top CSI ratings by promptly addressing customer complaints per dealership guidelines. Manufacturer & Compliance Standards Ensure adherence to company processes and manufacturer warranty policies, including timely claim submissions and maintenance scheduling. Oversee staff compliance with manufacturer training requirements across all franchise lines. Ensure all service and parts activity adheres to federal, state, and manufacturer regulations and ethical standards. Qualifications Required At least 3 years of experience in automotive dealership service management (5+ years preferred). Proven leadership ability — managing technicians, service advisors, and parts staff with measurable performance results. Strong focus on customer service with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Demonstrated ownership of departmental financial results, including revenue, gross profit, and expense management. Outstanding organizational skills, positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Preferred 5+ years of fixed operations management experience in an automotive dealership setting. Experience with Ford and/or Mazda franchise standards, warranty processes, and manufacturer programs. Tekion DMS system experience. High level of comfort presenting financial and operational reporting to ownership and executive leadership. What We Offer A senior leadership seat on the executive team of one of Kentucky's most established and respected dealership groups.
